I see this as a high-variance match. The first leg ended 3-2 in favor of CSKA, and that alone raises my expected goal average, because Derry can’t afford to take too many risks. In my adjusted Poisson model, I project roughly 1.35 goals for Derry and 1.45 for CSKA, for a total of around 2.80, which puts the probability of the over 2.5 at about 59%.
Tactically, Derry has to push forward with fullbacks, crosses, and second-phase plays; that creates chances, but also leaves spaces behind the defense.
